Text Box: Our 2008 gala is sure to be fun packed and as always will be free to enter.  The theme is “Space”, so start thinking about your fancy dress, float and competition entries.

Events will include a Magic show, Fair ground rides, Face painting , Craft stalls, Bouncy castle , vintage vehicles, lots of food, a dog show, Children’s fancy dress competition , Dancers, Float competition, Denholme Primary School craft competitions in the marquee, Children’s races (egg & spoon, sack, obstacle etc.)

Charity, Craft and Farmers stalls welcome. No professional fair ground rides/games as we have a visiting fair. We have a number of 6ft tables. Charges are as follows:

For non-profit organisations: £10 for the first table, and £5 for additional tables if required. You can also bring your own tables, but we would ask for a contribution of £10 towards the costs of running the event.

For commercial organisations: Charges are £20. All payments must be made in advance of the Gala. A receipt and entry pass will be sent upon receipt of payment. Stalls can set up from 10 am. 

The Procession will leave Ogden Lane at the earlier time of 1.00 pm, arriving 1.15 pm at Foster Park. The gala will be officially opened at 1.35pm.

Craft Competition  - 50p per entry - application forms to be completed and returned to the school by 27th June. Your actual entries must be brought to the marquee in Foster Park on gala day between 11.30am and 12.30pm. Judging will take place between 12.30pm and 1.30pm. Classes are:

1) Make an animal using vegetables and fruit

2) Bake either a chocolate, mixed fruit or a Victoria sponge cake

3) Create your own miniature garden no bigger than 40cm x 30cm using only natural materials

 

Entry classes are: Class 1 -  age under 7, Class 2 -  7 to 11, Class 3 - 11 and above.
